We had a really nice tour of history intensive Lexington and Concord yesterday with Bob and Lee. The rain held off and we didn't need any sunscreen :-)
Tomorrow's weather is looking a bit more iffy. If we need to postpone, I will send out email before 8:00 AM.
Here is the map for the Nashoba Valley Winery / Assebet River Rail Trail route. It starts about a mile from 495 (exit 27) in Bolton Center. I found a ball field with PortaPotty's just down the hill from Nashoba Valley Winery. Here is a map. The route goes over Sawyer Hill (great views) to South Berlin, and Northboro and then Marlboro. We catch the ARRT for a breezy downhill run to Hudson and then head back to Bolton. Its all on back roads with little traffic and about 22 1/2 miles. Here are some pictures that Joe took last fall before the monsoon started.
Thursday, July 2nd, we will meet in Bolton Center.
- 10:00 AM - We will leave for Berlin and Marlboro.
- noonish - Lunch and "refreshments" at the Horseshoe Pub in Hudson.
- 2:00 PM - We will be back to Bolton
- Apres Bike - Wine tasting at Nashoba Valley Winery just up the hill from our starting point.
Hope to see you there,
Bill
