This Week: Lunenburg + Party? + Summer Kick Off

Dear AdventuRiders,

As we slosh our way to the end of our 11th season, we have a bit of planning to do for the End of Season Party. The only day we have available is this Wednesday, June 24th. So, a few questions.
  1. Would you be able to attend?
  2. Do you want a 'ride first - then potluck party'? Any hosting volunteers?
  3. Or a 'ride first - then restaurant party'? Any suggestions?

On Friday June 26th, we are going to join the "Show and Go Adventure" led by our mentors Bob and Lee. We are collaborating with Bob and Lee, and anybody else who is interested, to organize free summer rides, walks, etc. The first ride will be an end to end ride of our very own Nashua River Rail Trail.

The weather tomorrow is not looking promising :-( We rode in the rain on Friday morning and it wasn't so bad, but its supposed to be chillier tomorrow.

We will meet in Lunenburg Center between the Teen Center and the Senior Center.

The morning Fitness ride will go UP to Pearl Hill State Park. There are beautiful vistas along the ridge. I haven't figured out the exact route yet, but it should be about 16 miles, quite hilly, and maybe a bit of off road around the park.

Lunch is at Trudie's Treats of course. Yummy!

The afternoon Recreation ride will explore the farms, fields, and yes, hills between Lunenburg and Shirley Center. This route is also a work in progress, but it should be about 12 miles, hilly with great views, and all on road.

On Monday, June 22nd, we will meet in Lunenburg Center. Google claims its only 17 minutes from Groton Center.
  • At 9:30 AM - The fitness ride will leave.
  • At 11:30 AM - We will have lunch at Trudy's Treats!!!
  • At 12:15 PM - The recreational ride will leave.
  • At 2:15 PM - We will be back.

Hope the weather cooperates!
Bill and Carole
